Melissa Reischman

Melissa Reischman was born in Portland, Oregon. She studied graphic design at the Colorado Institute of Art and went on to build a career as an award-winning graphic designer. During this time she followed the urge to develop her own artistic vision through paintings and drawings, studying with Richard Bunkhall and Ray Turner at Art Center College of Design.

Reischman’s work explores movement of light, color and atmosphere. Her paintings and drawings are meditations on her life experiences and encounters with nature that have surrounded her in places such as Portland, Greece, Paris, Prague, Buenos Aires and Los Angeles.

Reischman has exhibited at the Los Angeles Municipal Art Gallery at Barnsdall, Los Angeles, CA; The Brand Library, Glendale, CA; McGroarty Arts Center, Tujunga, CA, Available Light Gallery, Burbank, CA; SPARC Gallery, Venice, CA; Venice Art Walk, Venice, CA and The Rose Cafe, Venice, CA.

She is a member of the Los Angeles Art Association and the Women’s Caucus for Art.

She currently lives and works in Los Angeles, CA.
